Elf Ride or Die Lip Balms
Anytime that I do my makeup, there are definitely a few steps that are essential to me. A product / step that’s a complete non-negotiable one? Lip Balms!!!!
When it comes to doing my lips, I’ve always preferred a lip balm/gloss situation over lipsticks. I love how lip balms don’t dry out your lips, how they give you a super juicy and plump look, and even how they give long term benefits when it comes to taking care of your lips. Not only do lip balms have so many benefits, but they’re also so easy to apply; you don’t need a lip liner, or any expert skills to just simply pop on some lip balm and be ready to go. Lately, there have been many different launches of super juicy lip balms, and some, even have a color to them so they have all the benefits of a lip balm while adding a tint or some color to your lips like a lipstick would!
Being a self-proclaimed lip balm addict, I’m always on the hunt for trying new ones out to find the best of the best. Aside from all of the new makeup launches that have been happening lately, there was one in particular that caught my attention: the Elf Ride Or Die Lip Balms. I have no idea if it was the packaging that caught my eye, the shades, the marketing, or even just the name; but something caught my attention and I KNEW I had to run to pick them up.
I went to my local Target and picked up 3 shades of the lip balm: Tough Cookie, Just Peachy, Boss Berry, which all retail for only $5 each. I’ve been wearing the lip balm endlessly for a few days now and I feel like I have my mind made up on them. Are you ready? Let’s get into the details!
Elf Ride or Die Lip Balms: My Initial Experience
To put it simply, let me just say that I LOVE this lip balm. The Elf Ride or Die Lip Balm is an amazing drugstore lip balm that has great ingredients to give you the juiciest lips ever. Of the shades that I picked up, my favorite is Tough Cookie, which gives you a sheer nude tint to your lips. The other two shades, Just Peachy (sheer peach tint), and Boss Berry (sheer pink tint), are also BEAUTIFUL, but I always find myself gravitating towards nude shades. Plus, all of the shades have a yummy scent that is definitely there, but isn’t too strong at all.

The lip balms apply super smooth on the lips and they have a thicker formula than most of the balms that I typically use. Thus, since it’s thicker, it just means that I’ve found that these balms last a little longer on the lips. When it comes to shine and juiciness, these balms are like no other. My lips are so beyond shiny and wet-looking, but they don’t feel sticky whatsoever which is a major plus. In my opinion, I feel like these balms are even more hydrating than the average lip balm which can be due to some of their ingredients including: Jojoba Oil and Vegan Collagen.
Dupe Alert!
When thinking about other lip balms that I’ve tried, I would compare the Elf Ride or Die Lip Balm to the Bite Beauty Agave lip mask. The reasoning behind this is that both of the balms have a thicker consistency and really moisturize your lips deeply; not just a surface layer of some shiny balm. So, if you’re looking for an affordable dupe for the Bite Beauty lip mask, try giving this product a chance!
Elf Ride or Die Lip Balms: Final Thoughts
Now, if you’re looking for a lip balm that will both moisturize your lips and provide some color, the Elf Ride or Die Lip Balms are perfect for you. The shades that they have available are beautiful and they can be built up on your lips. For example, if you want to have a nude lipgloss but still want all the comfort of a lip balm, you can apply a few coats of this balm and you’re good to go. If you’re looking for only a slight tint with lasting hydration, just apply one layer of the balm and you’ll have a very subtle sheer tint, but still have that amazing moisturized feeling on your lips. Or, if you don’t want any color at all, then they also have a clear version available as well!
One thing that I would have to say is a con for me with this product, is their packaging. The packaging is similar to the Glossier Balm Dot Com, in that it’s just a simple tube with an opening. The tube doesn’t really have an applicator to apply the balm to your lips comfortably. Now normally, this would be a bit of deal-breaker for me because it’s just annoying and uncomfortable to apply. However, this balm is 100% worth this minor packaging mishap because it’s literally that great! I personally got used to the “applicator” when applying it, however, you can always apply it using your finger too.
