L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been totally obsessed with washing my hair. I literally always hated the feeling of my hair getting greasy and I was also so self-conscious the second that I felt like my hair was only a tiny bit dirty. Since I hated the look of my hair getting even the tiniest bit greasy, I got into the habit of washing my hair almost every day. If you’ve heard anything about hair care and overall hair health, the number one thing you definitely shouldn’t be doing is washing your hair daily. If you wash your hair too often, you really strip your hair of its natural oils, and in the end, you actually end up having your hair get greasy even faster than ever before!
Since I’ve always wanted to grow my hair super healthy and long, I knew that I quickly had to break the habit of over-washing. However, I was tasked with finding out just what could help me extend my times between washes without feeling super self-conscious about myself. What was that miracle product that literally changed my whole hair care routine? It’s dry shampoo!
What is Dry Shampoo?
If you haven’t heard about dry shampoo and exactly what it does, let me break it down for you! Dry shampoo is basically a spray hair product that can be used when you feel like your hair is looking a bit greasy. This product works to reduce any oil buildup and give you some texture and volume, all without the need for water! It takes just a few seconds to use and it can immediately give your hair that much-needed refreshed look to make you feel super confident once again.
Is Dry Shampoo Bad for Your Hair?
Yes and no. When it comes to dry shampoo, there are a few small drawbacks that I want to mention as well. Although it seems like the best answer to extend your time between hair washes, it should definitely be used in moderation. Since dry shampoo works to really absorb all of the oils on your scalp and in your hair, if you use it every single day and multiple times a day, it can start to cause irritation on your scalp as well as dryness. To avoid that, I recommend using dry shampoo only when you feel like your hair is a bit too oily, and don’t apply too much of it.
Additionally, I’ve found that when I use dry shampoo and then a heat tool on top, such as a hair curler or a hair straightener, I feel like since the hair is dried out, it causes more damage. My tip would be to avoid using a heat tool directly over the section of hair where you applied your dry shampoo.
How Do You Choose a Dry Shampoo?
Since we covered all of the basics about what dry shampoo is, let’s get into more details about one specific dry shampoo that I recently tried out that has me head over heels in love! When it comes to finding the perfect dry shampoo for me, I’ve had a bit of a hard time finding the right one. Although there are many products that are cult favorites out there, I have been on the hunt for a dry shampoo that is better than all of the rest.
Since I have dark brown hair, one thing that I’ve always struggled with when it comes to dry shampoo is that white cast that it leaves behind. Although you can easily remove the powdery look and finish by either running your fingers through it or using a blow dryer for a couple of seconds, it’s still something that I really despise. I can’t even tell you how many times it’s happened that I literally have to get ready super quick, apply my dry shampoo, and run out the door, only noticing I have giant spots of white powder all over my hair when it was too late. Not a cute look at all!
Additionally, I look for a product that will leave my hair genuinely feeling clean and it won’t leave my hair feeling super stiff, and as if I have a bunch of sprays in there.
L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo
Now that I quickly covered what I look for in a dry shampoo, let me tell you guys about one that has the potential to be my all time favorite! When I was at Target about a week ago, I noticed a dry shampoo on the end cap and I just knew that I had to pick it up. Having been a huge fan of the L’Oreal Dream Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner (it’s one of my favorites!), I didn’t even give it a second thought to pick up the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo.
Since I’ve only been using the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo for about a little over a week, I will be giving you guys my first impression of the product rather than a full review since I have to still put it to the test a few more times.
The L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo claims to be a dry shampoo that leaves no white residue on the hair, gives you instant body, and gives you a long-lasting clean feel without water. Although all of these claims may sound a bit too good to be true, I’m here to tell you that the claims are spot on with this amazing product. The second that I applied this dry shampoo, I was shocked. It left my hair feeling super clean, gave me some volume, and it also left absolutely no white residue or cast on my dark brown hair!
The L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo also smells heavenly and its scent isn’t too overwhelming which is another huge bonus. I’ve found that when I used this dry shampoo, I didn’t have any stiff feeling in my hair or anything along those lines. My hair just simply felt as though it was much cleaner, less greasy, and it also LOOKED a lot cleaner and fresher too!
After that initial use, I was so impressed with how it made my hair look and feel, that I just couldn’t put it down. Although all dry shampoos make my hair feel clean, I felt like this particular product made my hair look and feel cleaner than any other dry shampoo I ever used! I’m definitely going to be using this product for a few more weeks and I’m going to put it to the test so that I can really see exactly how I feel about it.

If you’ve been looking for a new dry shampoo to try out that will leave your hair feeling and looking clean, voluminous, and one that won’t give you any white residue on your hair, then you definitely should try out the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo. I’ve been using it non-stop for a little over a week and I’m so beyond impressed at how this product performs and I definitely feel like we have a contender here for one of my favorite dry shampoos ever!
