The BEST Affordable Drugstore Mascaras That You NEED in Your Life!
When it comes to makeup, I feel like a few steps are pretty extra and if I’m in a rush to get out of the house, I can pretty much skip most of them. However, there’s one step that’s non-negotiable when it comes to my makeup routine. What step is that? It’s mascara! I feel like no makeup look is really complete without mascara and I feel like even just having mascara on alone really brings out my eyes and makes me look more put-together in the end, with minimal effort!
Another important thing about my makeup philosophy is that I don’t feel like you need to break your bank and go into debt to have great quality makeup that performs well. Although high-end makeup is great to splurge on and to occasionally use and treat yourself, I feel you can get amazing products without the huge price tag that comes with luxe makeup. Throughout the years of my makeup obsession, I’ve been so crazy about trying new mascaras and I currently have a few that are just game-changing! Before I show you guys these amazing mascaras, I want to quickly mention what I look for in a mascara.
First off, I don’t like to use waterproof mascaras because they’re too tough to take off sometimes and I like to quickly wash my makeup off at the end of the day. Now, when it comes to my lashes, I really want a product that will separate them; not be clumpy, not be too heavy, not flake, lift, add volume, and be easy to remove! What a list, I know. However, the mascaras really do add all that and even more. Now that we covered all of our bases, let’s get into these amazing affordable mascara’s!
1) Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara – $10.49
The first best affordable drugstore mascara on my list of favorites is the Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. This mascara is seriously stunning. If you want super curled and lifted lashes that look like you have either lash extensions or falsies on, this is the mascara for you. It has a curved wand, similar to the Too Faced cult-favorite Better Than Sex mascara, that really lifts and separates each individual lash. The formula of this mascara really works to thicken your lashes and really volumize them, all without giving you a heavy look or spider-looking lashes. Best of all, this mascara doesn’t clump, flake, or smudge which makes it last all day!
2) L’oreal Voluminous Volume Building Curved Brush Mascara – $8.99
This mascara has been on the makeup scene for years and let me tell you, this classic is iconic and one of the best affordable drugstore mascaras for a reason! There are two different versions of this product when it comes to the wand; there is a classic straight wand and there is also a curved wand. I’m not going to lie, after using the regular straight version of this mascara I was less than impressed and I couldn’t figure out what the hype was surrounding this mascara.
A few months later, I stumbled upon the curved wand version and I haven’t been able to put it down since. This a fanned out and separated look, all while curling them and lengthening them. This mascara builds great when layered, doesn’t get clumpy, and is such a staple in my makeup routine. Of all of the mascara’s on this list, this one has been with me the longest and it’s definitely going to stay as a staple in my makeup routine.
3) L’Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara – $13.99
Although this mascara is fairly new, I can already tell that it is one of my all-time favorites. I bought this product a few weeks ago on a Target run and I have been totally obsessed with it! This mascara doesn’t really have a wand that I typically look for in a mascara; my usual favorites have a wand that has some curves to it (like the Maybelline mascara previously mentioned), or at least some kind of curvature. I use wands that have a little curve to them because I really want my lashes to be curled, lifted, and have some volume to them.
Needless to say, when I opened this mascara and I saw the wand I was a little skeptical about how it would work for me. The wand on the Air Volume mascara is pretty thick but it is straight, with no curves or anything to it, hence why I wasn’t too sure about it. But, after applying it for the first time, I quickly stopped being hesitant about it and became in LOVE with it! This mascara works great to really separate your lashes, thicken them, and lengthen them like CRAZY. I was honestly both amazed and surprised at how much this mascara was able to lengthen my lashes. If you’re looking for a mascara that will really give you super long lashes that will last all day, not clump, not flake, and really makes your eyes pop, run to pick up this gem of mascara!

These three mascaras have seriously changed the game for me these past few months and I honestly haven’t been able to put them down; there’s a reason I choose them each time over my high-end favorites! If you’ve been wanting a new mascara that really does such a great job at making your lashes look their best, all without breaking the bank, I highly recommend trying out some of the mascara’s mentioned in my “Best Affordable Drugstore Mascara” post. I promise you, you won’t regret it!
